US-based Rondo Energy has partnered with Siam Cement Group to build a Rondo heat battery plant in Ukraine. Rondo heat batteries consist of refractory bricks capable of storing renewable energy as heat, providing a constant hot gas supply in industries including cement. UKREnergy News has reported that the upcoming Ukrainian plant will have a heat battery production capacity of 90GWh – capable of eradicating 12Mt/yr of CO2 emissions from industries, including cement.
